A beautiful dog abandoned in a park 😰

It's amazing how often we're called to save abandoned dogs. Luckily for Rowlf, Mary Chatman spotted him, texted the Hope For Paws rescue line, and Katie immediately rushed to the rescue location.

Mary Chatman has been our eyes and ears in the South Central area for over a decade! She called us about so many animals - some of them are the most famous Hope For Paws dogs ever!

Back in 2012, Hope For Paws really struggled to stay alive. I posted Fiona's video in 2011, but it didn't do very well. In 2012, I decided to re-edit her rescue video, I posted it again, and sure enough, that version went viral and everything changed! We were able to reach many new supporters, and this one dog changed the lives of tens of thousands of animals over the years.

Yara was another special dog we rescued thanks to Mary. Her rescue video begins with a phone call between Mary and I - it was a dangerous rescue right by the freeway and could have gone wrong in so many ways. 😰

To complete this mission successfully, I had to call Loreta and ask her to join me - it was just impossible to do this one alone.

Earlier this year, Mary called us about two dogs living under a trailer. The timing of this rescue was so amazing because just a few hours later, one of them had given birth to five little puppies:

Right before the 4th of July, she called us about Patriot:

The most recent one was the rescue of Maggie Mae where you actually get to see Mary do the rescue herself:

I hope all these videos are a good reminder to the importance of having Hope For Paws on the ground every day!

Thank you so much for helping us save so many lives. 💝
